How The Word Tailor came to be...

Sewing is the furthest from a talent I have—but I do have talent in tailoring messages to fit the market and the purpose. Whether it’s to get your company noticed or drive sales, The Word Tailor will help you reach your goal.

An avid reader and writer, it was inevitable that I would eventually brave it on my own. After working in the corporate environment and then in commission sales, a family move necessitated a geographic change. This catalyst provided an avenue for my passion.

Some never get to do what they want and some never figure out exactly what it is they really want to do “when they grow up”. I guess I’ve known all along that writing would be my occupation, and how lucky I am that my occupation is also my passion.

Fast Facts:

·       BA in Communication Studies, Minor in Business Administration from the University of Iowa (GO HAWKS!)

·       Relocated to Denver, CO in 1992 to take on first sales endeavor, selling advertising space for trade journals

·       From 1993-1999 I created and implemented marketing campaigns for high-tech companies

·       In 1999 and until the mountain relocation, I sold graphic design services and wrote copy for X Design Company in Denver, CO

·       2000: we took the plunge and moved to the mountains! I survived the move to Gypsum, CO and ended up flourishing as The Word Tailor came to life. How can I not be happy surrounded by loved ones and a fulfilling career?

·       November 2006: We relocated to a beautiful mountain community near Winter Park.

·       Today: Still writing, the business is growing, and I still LOVE what I do!
